We're taking it easy today! Checotah, OK is where we're camped for the next couple days and it's a nice little town. The campground is in a rural area and there are many lakes around us. Lake Eufala is just down the road and we drove to an Army Corps of Engineers Campground called Belle Starr Park last evening. This park is right on the lake's edge and we fell in love with it. With only a couple days here, we won't move to it now but took down the name and will camp there our next time thru OK on I-40....won't be long, I'm sure.
Grocery shopping and visiting flea markets was on our to-do list for today. Good old handy Wal-Mart was our shopping destination. There's a Wal-Mart in nearly every town in the U.S. now including the small ones. We've noticed a strange phenomenon in many towns as we have traveled around the South in the last couple months. There are many shopping venues called flea markets here and there throughout many towns. We stopped at our first one here in Checotah, OK and have decided they're not for us. What a bunch of junk! At least here in OK, the items for sale look like they are just castoffs from someone's household goods. Florida's flea markets looked a little better but we never took the time to stop at one.....oh well!
Tomorrow we will head back east an hour to Sallisaw, OK and explore some Indian sites that we have heard about. Check here for the details of that visit!! Bye for now y'all!
