Yesterday (Monday) was a travel day.......seven hours long! Not our longest but anything longer than 5 hours gets uncomfortable. When we get out of the truck after a long driving day, we look like the old people that we are. It takes a few minutes to walk right again. We arrived at the Orlando Thousand Trails about 4:30pm (after losing an hour during our drive) and immediately went on a walk after setting up. There's a lake about 1/2 mile walk from our campsite and we headed over there to (wow, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record) look for gators. I really want to see a wild alligator! No luck and with the dark pressing in we headed back to our campsite. We encountered wildlife on our way back! First we thought it was a big squirrel then a possum but upon closer examination, it turned out to be an armadillo. Neither one of us had seen one in person before so we tried to get a little closer. The armadillo didn't want to hang around to be examined so it waddled away to the brush. We saw another one this morning and Ed was able to snap a picture.
Today was a lazy day. We took our time getting up and moving about. We took a long walk around the campsite this morning and visited with a lot of other RVers. RVers are a friendly lot and everyone is more than ready to share their life story so we heard a few of those today. Tomorrow we're off to.....somewhere, we haven't settled on the where yet but we'll let ya know!
